Hailing from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sport in 1996, Dr. Eric Blum continued on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic graduating in 1999.  Being a Northridge, California native, it was easy for Dr. Blum to subscribe to and practice the wellness concepts and techniques that Southern California is at the forefront.

After completing his Doctorate, Dr. Blum started his journey as a Chiropractor in 2001 in Thousand Oaks.  He quickly decided to open his own practice in 2004 and gear and refine his knowledge and techniques to target athletes and sports-related injuries.  Being that the human body’s recovery process varies from person to person, Dr. Eric Blum has utilized and perfected multiple treatment techniques to target each type of injury for optimal recovery and proactive treatment.

In the last decade, Dr. Blum has dedicated his efforts to “fixing” the issue by getting to the source of the problem, instead of applying a “band-aid” solution.  Because of this, Dr. Blum is the first person that is called when the most elite athletes are in need of treatment.  Since he started his practice, he has had the honor of working with and treating multiple Major League Baseball (MLB) organizations such as the The New York Mets and the former World Series Champions, The San Francisco Giants. Along with multiple NBA and NFL athletes, he has also had the honor of traveling with and treating multiple Olympic Athletes.  He has traveled to Dubai, Turkey, Japan, China, and England as well as throughout our own great country to treat the world’s best athletes so they can get the most out of their bodies.

A lifelong athlete, Dr. Ryan Rubin has always had a passion for sports and exercise. A competitor of soccer, track, and swimming since childhood Dr. Rubin has felt the benefits of sports science first hand. Chiropractors kept Dr. Rubin active after injuries, and physical strains throughout his youth, and ignited his interest in sports medicine. Helping keep others fit through training and inspiring his community to be their best self is the reason Dr. Rubin became a Chiropractor. Dr. Rubin is excited to be part of Synergy Chiropractic and Sports Rehabilitation, and be at the forefront of sports and family medicine.

Dr. Rubin received his Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology-Exercise Science from California State University, Northridge in 2012. While attending CSU Northridge, Dr. Rubin became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) as well as a Corrective Exercise Specialist, through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Rubin continued his education and began attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California, to pursue his Doctorate of Chiropractic. While at Palmer, Dr. Rubin treated participants in sports council events such as San Jose Rugby, Surf City Marathon, Turkey Trot, and NorthFace Endurance. Dr. Rubin Graduated in 2016 from Palmer then moved to care for the Southern California area.

Holding certifications in RockTape FMT, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and National Strengthen and Conditioning Association; Dr. Rubin applies multiple techniques to create the best individualized and effective treatments possible for every patient. He joined the Synergy Chiropractic and Sports Rehabilitation center in 2016, allowing him to continue his growth as a Doctor of sports medicine and continue giving the best treatments possible.

Dr. Nick Crooks grew up a multi-sport athlete and always enjoyed being physically active. Being a baseball pitcher throughout his childhood career, Dr. Nick was exposed to physical therapy services at a young age. This initially sparked interest due to the emotional ties associated with returning an injured athlete back to the playing field. He was a two-sport athlete in high school consisting of football and baseball. Unfortunately, Dr. Nick’s baseball career was cut short due to a shoulder injury which led to him focusing on football and later receiving a partial scholarship to play at the Division II level.

Dr. Nick transferred and received his Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology-Exercise Science from California State University, Northridge in 2014. Shortly after graduation, Dr. Crooks received his Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification and began working as a Strength & Conditioning Coach. He has worked with athletes of all levels ranging from youth to Division I athletes and has also worked as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Pierce Junior College, working primarily with Men’s Football, Women’s Volleyball, and Women’s Soccer.

In August of 2015, Dr. Nick began to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at West Coast University. While at West Coast, he volunteered his time at the Special Olympics, the Spinal Cord Games, and Wheels to Water, a nonprofit organization designated to assist patients with Spinal Cord Injuries. Dr. Nick has continued his education in Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Z Health Performance Solutions, Postural Restoration Institute (PRI), and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. Dr. Nick applies an integrative approach to best treat each individual as a whole. His objective is to get patients to optimize their performance through movement science and rehabilitation to achieve their goals.
