Soft Tissue

An Advanced Method to Decrease Pain and Improve Function

Soft tissue therapy is an advanced method that allows us to decrease pain and improve function in areas that  may suffer from the following:

  1. Scar Tissue
  2. Chronic Inflammation
  3. Adhesions in muscles, tendons, and ligaments
  4. Repetitive Stress Injuries to muscles, joint capsules & connective tissues

Our specialized techniques allow us to better detect and treat these areas because we may use instruments that glide along a patient’s muscle, tendons or ligaments, with the right amount of pressure to detect just where the scar tissue or restrictions are located. Since our body parts are connected in what is referred to as the “kinetic chain”, the clinician is able to follow that kinetic chain, effectively uncovering the cause of the problem, then treating the cause and the area of pain or restriction

When these knots or bands of scar tissue are encountered, both the clinician and the patient sense a restriction, almost like a speed bump or a granular feeling. An instrument can then be used to “break up” this restriction or adhesion. Stretching exercises are also then prescribed to promote the re-alignment of the fibers into the normal pattern of healthy tissue.
